In addition to serving as Co-founder, President & CEO of FundingSage, Tony is active in the investment arena, serving as Chairman of the Board, Carrier, Maurice & Webb, Wealth Advisors, and Managing Director of The Angel Roundtable, an angel network which provides investment capital, strategic advice and mentoring to late seed and early-stage companies. In addition, he currently serves as an Advisory Board Member of Angel Syndicates Central, a Member of the ETSU Intellectual Property Advisory Committee, and a Mentor for the AccelNow business accelerator. He is also a partner of Sheehan, Lettich, M&A Advisors.
Tony has an extensive background in Private Equity Investing, Mergers & Acquisitions, (M&A) and Finance. He served as Director, Business Development for Eastman Ventures, a Corporate Venture Capital firm which experienced two IPOs from his tenure.  He also served as Vice President & CFO of CP Kelco, overseeing the company’s global financial operations from July 2007–July 2009. Prior to CP Kelco, he served as Director, Corporate Financial Analysis & Group Business Controller, Developing Businesses at Eastman Chemical Company.  Other roles included positions within Eastman’s M&A and Licensing groups.

Rebecca is a multi-faceted designer and marketer with a focus in Graphic Design, Digital Marketing Strategies, and Creative Writing. She is also a first-generation American and became an international traveler before she could learn to walk. She has traveled over much of Western Europe, and over the course of her travels she developed an appreciation for different cultures while being exposed to the marketing side of the art community.

Rebecca focused her studies on Graphic Design and the French Language, graduating in 2016 from East Tennessee State University. During her college career, she traveled abroad studying French Classicism in Paris, was a founding member of the Graphic Design Collective, and began freelancing for various small businesses.

Rebecca currently designs and executes social media, editorial, and digital marketing strategies through her position as Digital Marketing Specialist.

Emily Welch

A twice published author in poetry, Emily is a creative writer with an extensive background in English Literature. Since graduating from Lincoln Memorial University, she gained experience as a Translator and Staff Writer for a variety of Appalachian Projects across East Tennessee. Her work has been featured in The Anthology of Appalachian Writers: Nikki Giovanni Volume VIII and Hollow Volume IV with awards in poetry and creative nonfiction.

A 2015 MBA graduate of the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, Liz Lewis focused her studies on Entrepreneurship and Corporate Innovation. She spent a summer interning in Silicon Valley with Plug & Play Tech Center as their Summer Camp Ambassador where she learned some of the ins and outs of everyday entrepreneurship and venture investing.

Before her interest in entrepreneurship began Liz was all about Japan.  She lived and worked in Japan for 12 years as an Assistant English Teacher for 5 years, before opening her own conversation school which she successfully ran for 4 years.  Switching gears in 2010 she began working logistics and international sales for a small family owned artisanal soy sauce manufacturer.  Helping this company grow and experiencing the struggles that small businesses go through really ignited her passion for entrepreneurship.

Liz currently helps entrepreneurs and small businesses through her position as Assistant Director of the ETSU Innovation Lab, a high-tech business incubator located in Johnson City, TN.

A seasoned entrepreneur, Dave has been a founder or principal in over a dozen start-up companies including computer services, medical personnel and services, restaurant, and consulting.

In addition to FundingSage, Dave is the President of Clark & Company, a real estate development and construction services company and Managing Partner of Katharine Square Partnership a commercial real estate venture based in Kingsport, Tennessee.

He served a four-year term to the Kingsport Board of Mayor and Aldermen. Other service includes: Kingsport Regional Planning Commission, the Economic Development Council; a Mountain States Healthcare Advisory Board; and the regional Bank of America Advisory Board.  He also served as a Chamber Vice-President and Chairman of the Kingsport Office of Small Business and Entrepreneurship (KOSBE). Writes a bi-weekly opinion column for the Kingsport Times-News.

Dave is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and received an MPA from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University.

He served for 23 years in the U.S. Army in various command and staff positions.  As an Associate Professor at West Point, he taught Strategy and National Security Policy. He retired from U.S. Army Reserves as a Lieutenant Colonel.

Matthew W. Cleek

Matthew has a background ranging from hard labor to executive management. He has worked with many industries including construction, chemical, coal, power, manufacturing, radio and Information Technology.

Matthew’s career began with Eastman Chemical Company in general operations. During his time with Eastman, Matthew became a trainer and custom application programmer creating systems to automate many manual processes. In 1999, Matthew took an opportunity working with Tele-Optics to develop a high-end technology division.

Mr. Cleek is an entrepreneur involved in multiple, active ventures including:

  • theEclassifieds – a regional classifieds organization
  • Theme Spectrum – an online shop for premium WordPress themes
  • Spectrum 20 – a managed hosting services company

In addition to FundingSage, Mr. Cleek serves as President and co-owner of Intellithought. Matthew was a founding member of Intellithought in 2001. Intellithought is an award winning multifaceted firm based in Kingsport, Tennessee providing IT services and solutions to companies throughout the Southeastern United States.
